John Cameron – Business Coach & Trainer
John is one of Canada’s most sought-after small business experts and has been helping business owners achieve success since 2001. He has a Business Degree from Simon Fraser University followed by a career that began with a marketing consulting practice in Vancouver. Following that, he started up his own contracting company from scratch — built it up to 25 employees — and successfully sold it. In 2001, John received his certification as an expert business coach. Nathan has over 25 years of experience assisting clients on M&A and private equity transactions. In addition to working on deals in Western Canada, Ontario and Quebec, Nathan also has significant international experience, advising on many Canada/US cross-border acquisitions and cross-border private equity transactions. He also worked for several years in the London, UK office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, a leading international firm.

Axel Christiansen, CFA – Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions
Axel brings over 20 years of mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance experience to Renaissance Mergers & Acquisitions. With a career focused on serving small to mid-sized BC companies across a wide range of industries, he’s routinely sought out by entrepreneurs who want to successfully transition their businesses. Born in Hong Kong, raised in the Philippines and a Vancouver resident for over four decades, Axel was a founding member of Vancity Capital – the mezzanine financing division of Vancity Savings Credit Union. He then moved into the role of Managing Director for BDC Capital’s mezzanine financing group covering BC and the Yukon. In both roles, he was actively engaged in structuring and negotiating merger and acquisition transactions.

Rick Gendemann, CPA, CA – Lead Partner – Business Transition, Business Advisory, Tax Planning, Family Wealth Continuity
Rick is committed to helping business families create a roadmap for successfully transferring their entrepreneurship and economic wealth across multiple family generations. Rick works extensively with family enterprises, providing owners with business advisory and business transition planning services. Rick is a graduate of the Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors program, which provides a comprehensive education in knowledge and best practices in family enterprise advising. He works closely with business owners in helping them develop and implement strategies to enhance the future. His experience in working with family enterprises spans over 30 years. Rick is also a frequent presenter on business advisory and business transition matters and has authored numerous articles on these matters.

Jon Eaton, CIM – Head of Private Client Wealth
Jon Eaton is Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Anchor Pacific Investment Management. He joined Anchor Pacific as a principal in January of 2019. He brings over 30 years of business, financial and investment management experience, ranging from private business to becoming a Portfolio Manager with two of Canada’s largest banks. Jon entered the investment industry in 1987 after completing his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta. He spent several years working with international companies and pension managers designing and implementing various investment strategies. From 1994 to 1997, he and his partners acquired, re-built and sold three businesses, including a five-store pharmacy chain. Jon re-entered the wealth management industry in 1998, becoming a Portfolio Manager in 2003.
Jon brings extensive experience in helping entrepreneurial families through transitions in life. He has experience in both advising families and guiding his own family through the transition from business owners to wealth managers. Jon lives in the North Brader community in Abbotsford with Susan, his wife of 27 years. They have three children, Kate, Alex and Sara. Jon & Susan enjoy their hobby farm and share it with horses, chickens, cats, two dogs and a pair of donkeys named Gus & Elliot.
